1. About Texas Valor Foundation

Texas Valor Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to providing restorative outdoor experiences for first responders, active duty service members, veterans, and their families. Our mission is to create opportunities for rest, renewal, community connection, and gratitude through therapeutic outdoor experiences, including but not limited to hunting, fishing, ranch-based experiences, camping, retreats, group connection events, and family-friendly community gatherings.

The information provided on this website is for general informational, outreach, application, volunteer, fundraising, and donation purposes.

 

2. Use of This Website

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with the rights, safety, or experience of others. You may not use this website to:

3. Applications, Nominations, and Program Participation

Texas Valor Foundation may allow eligible individuals to apply for outdoor experiences or allow others to nominate a first responder, active duty service member, or veteran for consideration.

Submitting an application or nomination does not guarantee selection, participation, approval, placement, or attendance at any Texas Valor Foundation program or event. Program availability may depend on funding, event capacity, participant needs, location, safety considerations, volunteer availability, sponsor support, and organizational resources.

Texas Valor Foundation reserves the right to review, approve, deny, waitlist, or remove applicants or participants at its discretion.

 

4. Eligibility

​

Programs are generally intended for first responders, active duty service members, veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, and, where applicable, their families. Texas Valor Foundation may request information to help verify eligibility, understand participant needs, and determine whether a particular experience is appropriate.

You agree that any information you provide through an application, nomination, contact form, volunteer form, or donation form will be accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.

 

5. Outdoor Activity and Safety Disclaimer

Texas Valor Foundation’s programs may involve outdoor environments and activities, including but not limited to hunting, fishing, ranch activities, camping, hiking, transportation, group events, and other nature-based experiences. These activities may involve inherent risks, including weather conditions, uneven terrain, wildlife, water-related risks, equipment use, transportation risks, physical exertion, and other hazards.

Participation in any Texas Valor Foundation event may require additional waivers, releases, permissions, safety guidelines, medical disclosures, emergency contact information, or other documentation before participation is allowed.

By applying for or participating in any event, you acknowledge that outdoor activities involve risk and that you are responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate for your health, physical condition, and personal circumstances.

 

6. No Medical or Mental Health Advice

​

Texas Valor Foundation’s programs are designed to provide restorative outdoor experiences, community support, and opportunities for renewal. However, the content, programs, events, and information provided by Texas Valor Foundation are not a substitute for professional medical care, mental health treatment, counseling, therapy, diagnosis, or emergency services.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis, or immediate danger, please call 911 or contact a qualified healthcare provider or crisis support service.

 

7. Volunteer Participation

​

Individuals may apply to volunteer with Texas Valor Foundation. Submitting a volunteer form does not guarantee acceptance as a volunteer or assignment to any specific role, event, or responsibility.

Volunteers may be asked to assist with event setup, outdoor trip support, meal coordination, transportation and logistics, fundraising, photography/video, social media, sponsor outreach, administrative support, community outreach, or other mission-related needs.

Volunteers are expected to act respectfully, maintain confidentiality, follow safety instructions, support the mission of Texas Valor Foundation, and conduct themselves professionally at all times. Texas Valor Foundation reserves the right to decline or remove volunteers at its discretion.

 

8. Donations and Donation Policy

​

Texas Valor Foundation accepts donations to support its mission, programs, outdoor experiences, participant needs, event logistics, gear, meals, lodging, travel, supplies, and other mission-related expenses.

 

By making a donation, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Donations may be used where they are most needed to support Texas Valor Foundation’s mission.

• Suggested giving amounts listed on the website are examples and do not restrict how funds may ultimately be allocated.

• Donations may support outdoor experiences, event costs, participant needs, equipment, logistics, administrative costs, outreach, and other nonprofit operating expenses.

• A donation does not guarantee that a specific individual will be selected for a program or that a specific event will occur.

• Corporate sponsorships, event sponsorships, in-kind donations, and physical donations may be subject to separate approval and coordination.

• Texas Valor Foundation reserves the right to decline or return donations when appropriate.

 

9. One-Time and Monthly Donations

Texas Valor Foundation may offer one-time and recurring monthly donation options. If you choose to make a monthly donation, you authorize the applicable payment processor to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until the donation is canceled.

To cancel or update a recurring donation, please contact Texas Valor Foundation or use the cancellation tools provided by the payment processor, if available. Cancellation requests should be made before the next scheduled payment date to avoid additional charges.

 

10. Refund Policy for Donations

​

Because donations are charitable contributions used to support Texas Valor Foundation’s mission, donations are generally considered final and non-refundable.

​

However, Texas Valor Foundation may review refund requests on a case-by-case basis, including in situations involving duplicate transactions, processing errors, incorrect donation amounts, or unauthorized payments. Approval of a refund is not guaranteed.

To request a donation refund review, please contact Texas Valor Foundation with your name, donation date, donation amount, payment method, and reason for the request.

 

11. Tax-Deductibility and Donation Receipts

Texas Valor Foundation is a nonprofit organization. Tax treatment of donations may depend on the organization’s tax-exempt status, the donor’s individual circumstances, applicable laws, and whether any goods or services were received in exchange for the donation.

Texas Valor Foundation may provide donation acknowledgments or receipts where appropriate. Donors should retain their donation records and consult a qualified tax advisor regarding the deductibility of any contribution.

For donations of $250 or more, the IRS generally requires donors to obtain a written acknowledgment in order to substantiate a charitable contribution deduction.

 

12. In-Kind Donations, Gear, and Supplies

Texas Valor Foundation may accept physical donations, gear, supplies, equipment, or other in-kind contributions when appropriate for its programs. All in-kind donations must be coordinated directly with Texas Valor Foundation.

Texas Valor Foundation reserves the right to accept, decline, redirect, dispose of, or repurpose in-kind donations based on condition, safety, storage capacity, program needs, and mission alignment.

Valuation of in-kind donations for tax purposes is the responsibility of the donor. Texas Valor Foundation does not provide tax, legal, or appraisal advice.

 

13. Sponsorships and Corporate Support

Businesses, organizations, and individuals may have the opportunity to sponsor events, programs, participants, or mission-related initiatives. Sponsorship benefits, recognition, promotional rights, event involvement, and donation documentation may vary depending on the specific sponsorship arrangement.

All sponsorships are subject to approval by Texas Valor Foundation. Texas Valor Foundation may decline sponsorships that do not align with its mission, values, safety standards, or community goals.

 

14. Payment Processing

​

Online donations or payments may be processed through third-party platforms such as PayPal, Wix, or other payment processors. By submitting payment information, you agree to follow the terms, privacy policies, and processing rules of the applicable third-party provider.

Texas Valor Foundation is not responsible for payment processor errors, downtime, declined transactions, security issues, fees, chargebacks, or delays caused by third-party platforms.

 

15. Email, Newsletter, and Communications

By submitting a contact form, donation form, application, volunteer signup, or newsletter signup, you may consent to receive communications from Texas Valor Foundation related to programs, events, volunteer opportunities, donations, impact stories, updates, and mission-related information.

You may unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the message or contacting Texas Valor Foundation directly. Some transactional or administrative communications may still be sent when necessary.
